This artwork portrays Jesus Christ breathing life into the first man, revealing the Orthodox teaching that the eternal Son, the divine Logos, is the One who gives being, breath, and purpose to humanity. As Christ bends toward Adam, He imparts the image and likeness of God, showing that human life begins as a direct outpouring of divine love. To the side stand the tetramorphic figures of the Evangelists, serving as a visual microcosm of the eternity of Christ. They bear witness that the same Logos who creates Adam is the One revealed in the Gospel, the One who holds all ages together.
